Best Mates

Today Charlie had his friend Max over for a play date and a chance for me and his mum Michelle to have a catch up. They were so funny sitting on the floor together grinning at each other and watching each others every move. Once they had got past the awkward first stages of being in each others company, checking each other out, there was no stopping them. Charlie was screaming like a banshee and Max was shouting at the top of his voice. In fact the competition for air time was getting quite heated as Charlie vied for an interlude in Max's very long repertoire in order to get himself heard. Then started the bubble and raspberry blowing and tongue protruding from them both and then they were off again. Michelle and I literally had to shout above them both to continue our conversation in fact we thought it quite rude of them to be taking all the attention and laughed in about what a couple of menaces they are going to be when they start walking. There may be trouble ahead........

Sunsets

Thanks to the good weather we have been able to get to the beach a few times this week. On Wednesday Mike came home early from work and we went down there for the evening to have our dinner watching the sun set. And we were not disappointed, as it was a corker. This time of the year we can often see these amazing formations on the skyline and that night was a perfect example of the views that inspired Turner and his paintings. Over the weekend we were down at the beach hut enjoying the sunshine and having fun with Charlie. He absolutely loves the sea and gets very excited when we take him to the waters edge to watch the waves. He loves the noise they make and is mesmerised by the rolling water. We have come to the conclusion however, that he is starting to go through his anarchic rebellious stage already at the ripe old age of 7 months. Swilling beer and wearing dark glasses has become his latest pastime, playing the drums and stage diving we feel sure is not far off.

Hanging Out

Now Charlie is well and truly on the move, having found him sandwiched up against the door frame the other day, we decided we needed to make some more space for him. So we have turned half of our dining room into a designated play area so he can roll around without getting into too much trouble. He seemed very excited at the new playground and Mike spent Saturday afternoon hanging out on the floor with him. Sunday was spent on the beach having a BBQ, enjoying the sunset and making the most of the warm evenings before they disappear. A very chilled and lazy weekend.
