Celebrity Spotting
Over the last month or so I seem to have spotted a number of celebrities whilst out and about. These include, a comedian, film star and political satirist.
During lunch at Wagamamas in Canterbury there was Vic Reeves, his wife Nancy and their twin daughters sitting behind us. He looked so old but then i remembered that it was 20 years ago that i had seen him in his live stand up show Big Night Out so i do not know why i was surprised to think that he had aged, sporting grey hair and looking rather tired. Perhaps having 2 lively 4 year old girls was enough to send any man grey?
A few weeks later i found myself queuing in the food dept of M&S and standing in front of me was Richard E Grant no less. This i think tops my celebrity spotting, he is A list, with an amazing repertoire of films and with the most fabulous voice that i could listen to all day long. So there he was standing with his basket of M&S lunch products (yes I did survey all that was in it) and proceeded to pay at the checkout. The woman on the till was hilarious, saying 'so i know you, you look really familiar?' He replied saying 'i don't live round here' she said, 'well you must have a double then'. And off he went. When i got to the checkout she said 'who was that man?' 'Richard E Grant', i replied, 'it wasn't she screamed' Oh yes.
Then last weekend at the hilarious stand up show of Ross Noble that a crowd of us went to see for Jo's birthday, who should be standing behind me in the queue to get to the bar but Ian Hislop. He is a very very short man with a very child like face. We got chatting at the bar and i offered to buy him a drink which he declined??? Clearly he was not impressed.

So the challenge for me in the next month or so is to find a musician, TV star, sports person and author.
