Count Down
Mike and I are now getting really excited as we now have a date for the c section and can now count down to the day that we get to meet our new baby. It seems a long time ago that we were in such a dark place but since we celebrated Ruby's birthday we feel some sense of peace and are now able to look towards the new beginnings with her sister or brother.I have now finished work and although I have no idea whether I have a job or not due to the NHS re-structure, I am glad to be able to have some time at home before the baby arrives. Not one to be putting my feet up and resting though, I have started on a cooking marathon making lots of meals to freeze to save on time when we first get home. The nesting instinct is kicking in with a vengence as I have a number of lists of 'things to sort out' and various obessive cleaning plans for every room in the house. The best thing about not being at work however, is making the most of having a lie and catching up on some well needed sleep.I seem to have grown to gigantic proportions since we entered 2007 and am feeling and looking like I have a swallowed a giant space hopper and indeed feel like there is a giant of a baby in there. It is generally known that second babies are bigger and as Ruby was a big girlie it seems that this one is definitely in competition with her.I guess all will be revealed in a couple of weeks time.................
Happy Birthday Ruby
Today, Mike and I celebrated the birth of our beautiful daughter Ruby Jeanne. It's hard to believe that it was a year ago that Ruby came into our world and we thought so much today about how grateful we were to spend the time we did with her whilst she was here. Today though was not going to be a sad day, although a few tears were shead when we opened the many cards, messages and gifts that we received from friends and family. Today was a day to celebrate. So Mike and I took a beautful flower arrangement up to Rubys grave and then headed back to the beach where we released two heart shaped
balloons across the sea in memory of our wonderful and brave little girl. We watched them float away until we could no longer see them. Then we sat in one our our favourite restaurants and had an amazing lunch together. Tonight at 6.51pm we will open a bottle of champagne and think about our darling Ruby and how lucky we were to have her.
